The coffee harvest has brought us West as the first of the Central American green beans arrived in the United States this month. Our first Central American coffee is from El Salvador just outside San Salvador. The farm where the coffee is grown and milled is known as “Finca Matalapa” and was originally established in the late 1800’s by the current owner’s great grandmother. Tropical rainforest (preserved by the farm) provides ample shade for the coffee to be grown at an altitude of between 3,900 feet and nearly 4,500 feet.
This particular coffee produces some really complex flavors including raw honey, rich chocolate and hazelnut…in a good way! As with previous coffees, we’re offering a medium and dark roast.
