Five years ago Ben and Kristy Carlson left the United States for Burundi in an attempt to unearth a long-forgotten coffee region. Once there, they formed Long Miles Coffee Project which includes two washing stations in the east African country working with a network of 150 farmers. Because of the incredible attention to detail the Carlson’s take with each step of the coffee process, their coffee is traceable to the hill it was grown on and to the farmer who grew it.
