With this offering we take a detour back to Rwanda to catch the tail end of the harvest there. Rwanda Rulindo comes to us from a coffee cooperative known as Cocatu which is located in the town of Tomba in Northern Rwanda. The mountainous area where the coffee is grown and harvested sits at 2,000 meters (or more than 6,000 feet), an altitude that produces an exceptionally dense and flavorful coffee. Our supplier has had a direct relationship with this cooperative for more than five years, offering the member farmers stable, consistent and fair pricing for their coffees.
Tasting notes: Our medium roast shows great dark fruit aromas, with a nice, honey-like finish. With the dark roast, the flavor becomes malty, and finishes with lingering dark chocolate.
We’re roasting this coffee starting 6/6/2015 and should have it on the list for three weeks. CSA members will start seeing this coffee in their weekly shares the week of 6/7/2015. To place a one time order online, visit our shop here.
